My addiction is easily offended and hold grudges; my recovery forgives offenses.

My addiction is harsh; my recovery is understanding.

My addiction does not accept correction easily; my recovery learns from others.

My addiction maintains appearances; my recovery is honest.

My addiction lives beyond its means; my recovery has nothing to prove.

My addiction is the center of all that matters; my recovery empathizes.

My addiction dislikes authority; my recovery takes direction.

My addiction believe or denies almost anything to protect itself; my recovery accepts reality.

My addiction depends on itself; my recovery searches for God and and learns to depend on him.

My addiction is threatened by neighbors; my recovery accepts and loves its neighbor.

My addiction doesn’t recognize itself in others; my recovery overlooks faults except its own.

My addiction is bondage; my recovery is freedom.
