3 Short Steps To Success
Some people thrive while others suffer. Some are happy and fulfilled with their daily lives and the life they have chosen to live, but some people find everything a boring chore. Often these differences cannot be put down to material possessions.
If you look closely, they may even be co-workers doing the same type of job and living in the same area in similar houses. So what leads one person to be motivated and strive for self improvement, while the other person deteriorates at the same spot? There are three key steps which can change a person into a success, and which can work for you too!
1) Inspiration. Are you inspired by what you do? Does your job maintain your interest at all times? If you are finding it a struggle to get out of bed in the morning and drag yourself to work, then maybe it is time for a change.
It does not have to be an earth-shattering change. Just look for small ways to find the inspiration you need to become more driven and motivated. Maybe you can ask for more responsibility at work. If you are your own boss, then it might be an idea to change the direction of your business slightly, like changing the product you specialize in to a more interesting one for you.
When you feel motivated, you can’t wait to leap out of bed in the morning and start doing what you do. This could be you in a few short months if you can find the motivation to succeed.
2) Set Goals. If you have some targets which you can work towards, then this always helps an individual to be motivated. If you are the owner of a small business, then you can involve your whole workforce in this. Set goals for each section and have a reward scheme. It doesn’t do help much in rewarding someone with something they do not want, so please don’t rush out, have pens printed with your company logo – that just will not do.
It is much better to be creative. Let them leave half an hour early or treat them to a posh lunch. All these little things really go a long way. Set intermediate targets with an overall company goal. It can be something like ‘We will exceed our production by ten percent this year’. Then write this down and make sure that everyone knows about it!
3) Network. Networking is very important in today’s world. It can make you feel that you are not alone in your goals. If you meet others with similar goals that can help you, then it makes your life more interesting.
So where can you meet these people? Join the professional body in your field and go to their meetings. Do you read magazines and journals relating to your work? They often have conferences you could attend. Even in your day to day life, you will be surprised at who you can have a chance meeting with who will offer to help you. Social gatherings are often very important networking opportunities. Those people who are successful in what they do are constantly on the lookout for new contacts and networking groups.
By following these three techniques, you can bring the glamour and verve back into your life in no time. You will certainly feel more fulfilled and with an extra bounce in your step that you never knew you could have.
