How to Bounce Back from Hardships
Life always happens. There will be times where you end up getting knocked down and your highly organized life gets turned upside down.
Without a doubt, you will experience serious sicknesses, whether personally or with somebody close. You might get challenged with losses of loved ones, losses of jobs, divorce or other unfortunate life experiences.
Face it: things happen. They are a part of everybody’s life and regardless of how you attempt to explain these things; they will still hurt a lot. They will hurt to the core.
In such times you will feel down, if not entirely depressed. It is possible for you to feel anger or another manifestation of the pain. No matter what it is you feel – it is alright. It is alright to feel sad, hurt or angry. Pain and fear cannot be denied. The only way to survive both would be to allow yourself to truly feel.
The question would not be whether you feel down or not. The question would be how long you will remain in such a state.
The big difference between those people who survive the challenging moments of life, no matter how serious they are, and those people who get immobilized by events is how fast they bounce back.
How fast does it take you to bounce back? Naturally, it will depend on the event’s severity and how you will survive the pain to move on with life. The key would not be whether life will occasionally take you for a crazy spin; it would be the amount of time you stay there.
Whenever something horrible happens in your life, give yourself time to grieve, but do not let yourself stay in there. Take action. Join support groups, talk to spiritual advisers or trusted friends about your personal feelings. When needed, look for professional help.
Within cases of job loss, maybe you will want to take time to completely re-evaluate your goals in your career. You might even take a field change under consideration. Whenever you are prepared, you can start networking to make brand new contacts. Go to church or social events. Call someone. Just do something. You’ll be glad you did.
